Embossing Goosanders in flight

At my temporary local patch  which consists of a Canal, Tidal River, Fishing ponds, Marsh Area and Farmland, There is no doubt there are quite a few waterfowl around. I have been recording up to 12 Goosanders which is a type of sawbill (Duck). Larger then your average Mallard and quite streamlined which seems to have a long neck and bill in flight. Today I was able to photograph a silhouette of a pair in flight at dusk.  With Photoshop CS5, I managed to create and design a simple picture using the embossing filter which was the first time I have put it to the test.
I am very happy with the way it has turned out.

For web purposes only, I have downsized, reduced the quality and watermarked.

Patterns in Nature - The Drought

Just weeks into the summer, the climate becomes hot and dry in Africa. Water becomes hard to find as dried up river beds play a part in natures patterns. The ground shouts out as you walk across the cracked earth crust, sending you into a experience where creativity keeps your mind open to the harsh reality which third world countries face.

Creative Creations comes in all Packages

Welcome to the new blog

'Beckles Creations'

I originally come from Yorkshire
but have spent a lot of time up in the Shetland Islands, Scotland.

This blog is really something for me to document and watch my progress
as I try to learn and explore new crafts.
Advice and Tips will always be welcome.

I have a big interest in photography whether
its outdoor, wildlife, pets or scenic pictures
so no doubt you will be seeing quite a lot of my images on the blog.
I'm use the programme Photoshop CS5,
learning  the use of filters, HDR,
Black and white images, layers, etc.

I like to see myself as a Arts and Crafts sort of person
from card making to cross stitching.
The latter have had me create my own designs from my photos
of which good feed back was greatly received.
I have been learning the art of knitting of which I have
already made a Fisherman's Kep and a snood.
I have been lucky enough to be apart of a community
which holds a great history and culture in to this craft
where the type of patterns are world famous.

People who knows me, know me best for my baking
whether its for my
soft  Bread, Luxurious Muffins, Tray bakes, Sponges, Crumbles, Scones, etc.
This is where I like to be adventurous and explore new ideas.

I have a big interest in our beloved mans best friend
of which I own a excitable canine.
You will probably guess what Type of breed
by its distinctive  markings in my images

I enjoy wildlife where birds are my main focus.
I have had the privilege of being on a fantastic wildlife hot spot
during the last several summers
which have played host to numerous
pods of Dolphins and the incredible Orca 'Killer Whale.

I would like to see my interests come out
in my creations in one way of another.
I will be looking forward to any feedback
as I update this blog as and when.

Now for the important bit
